Known by the people of Göreme as the "Samanlık," this rock-carved room was once used solely to store food for the family's animals. Hay, barley, wheat and alfalfa were carefully kept here to provide nourishment throughout the winter.
Carved into the rock, this room once safeguarded the animals' winter provisions.
